This Privacy Policy explains how Haircut AI ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application, websites, and related services.
Haircut AI provides AI-assisted haircut, hairstyle, beard, hair color, and barber-plan features. The app is intended for style guidance only. It is not medical, dermatological, cosmetic-surgery, or professional salon advice.
1. Information We Collect
Photos and Image Data
When you choose to scan your face or generate a hairstyle preview, you may provide photos from your camera or photo library. We use these photos to:
- analyze face shape and visible appearance features;
- generate hairstyle or beard previews;
- create a barber-ready haircut plan;
- improve the reliability and safety of the requested workflow.
We do not access your camera or photo library unless you grant permission through your device settings or system prompts.
Face and Hairstyle Analysis Data
The app may process derived analysis results such as:
- face shape;
- estimated gender or style category, if returned by a provider or selected by you;
- face proportion metrics;
- photo quality signals such as lighting or face angle;
- hair color or style compatibility signals;
- selected hairstyle, beard, and color preferences;
- generated plan content and history saved on your device.
These results are used to provide app functionality and are not used for identity verification.
Purchase and Subscription Data
We use RevenueCat and Apple App Store / Google Play billing systems to manage subscriptions, one-time purchases, purchase status, restore purchases, and entitlements. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Device, App, and Usage Data
We may collect technical information such as:
- device model, operating system, app version, language, and region;
- diagnostic logs, crash information, and performance data;
- network status and request metadata needed to operate the service;
- product usage events, such as whether a scan was started, completed, or whether a paywall was shown.
Firebase Analytics and Remote Config
We may use Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics.
Firebase Analytics may collect app usage, device, session, approximate location, and app-instance information to help us understand product performance and improve the app. We only enable analytics where allowed by law and subject to your consent choices where required.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide face analysis, hairstyle recommendations, virtual try-on previews, and barber plans;
- process and verify purchases and subscriptions;
- save plan history on your device;
- improve app quality, reliability, personalization, and safety;
- detect misuse, abuse, fraud, or security issues;
- respond to support requests;
- comply with legal obligations and App Store requirements.
3. How Photos Are Processed
Some AI features require photos to be transmitted to our backend and third-party AI providers. Photo requests may be encrypted and signed before being sent to our backend. Our backend may then send the image or derived data to third-party providers, such as Perfect Corp, to perform face analysis or hairstyle try-on.
Generated preview image URLs from third-party providers may be temporary and may expire. When you save a plan in the app, the app may cache the generated image locally on your device so that your saved history can remain viewable after the remote URL expires.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We may use the following service providers:
- Perfect Corp: AI face analysis, hair analysis, hairstyle try-on, beard try-on, or related virtual try-on services.
- RevenueCat: purchase, subscription, entitlement, and restore-purchase management.
- Firebase / Google: analytics, diagnostics, Remote Config, and app configuration.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing, subscription management, refunds, and purchase history.
- Railway / Cloud Hosting Providers: backend hosting and API infrastructure.
- Sentry or similar diagnostics providers, if enabled: crash reporting and error diagnostics.
These providers process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable, we process personal information based on:
- your consent, such as camera/photo access or analytics consent;
- performance of a contract, such as providing paid features you purchased;
- legitimate interests, such as security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and debugging;
- legal obligations, such as tax, accounting, consumer protection, and platform compliance.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
- Photos submitted for AI processing are used to complete your request and are not intended to be retained longer than necessary by our backend.
- Third-party generated result URLs may expire according to provider rules.
- Saved plan history and cached generated images may remain on your device until you delete them or clear local app data.
- Purchase records may be retained by RevenueCat, Apple, Google, or us as required for entitlement, tax, accounting, refund, and fraud-prevention purposes.
- Analytics and diagnostic data may be retained according to the settings of the relevant provider.
7. Your Choices and Controls
You can:
- deny or revoke camera and photo library permissions in your device settings;
- clear local plan history inside the app, where available;
- restore purchases through the app;
- disable optional analytics where the app provides such controls;
- contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information, subject to legal limits.
If you delete the app, locally stored plan history and cached images may be removed from your device, depending on your operating system and backup settings.
8. Children
Haircut AI is not intended for children under 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International Data Transfers
Our service providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than where you live. These countries may have data protection laws different from your jurisdiction. Where required, we use contractual or technical safeguards designed to protect transferred data.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, request signing, limited access, and local storage controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. AI Output and Sensitive Inferences
AI-generated recommendations may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your personal preferences. Face shape, hair color, and appearance-related outputs are style guidance only. We do not use the app to identify you, authenticate you, or make legal, employment, insurance, medical, or financial decisions about you.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and may provide additional notice in the app or on our website.
